I been working here as a primary school teacher for the past couple of years. I started my teaching journey after finishing graduate school at the New York academy of fine art in Manhattan, New York. Prior to receiving my MFA I attended Pratt Institute achieving a BFA in graphic design. I worked for a couple educational institutions while in New York like, Studio in a School. Through their program I gathered unique methods of using the visual arts to help build children’s self-esteem and fostering their creativity. There professional artists worked on writing lesson plans to combine art with academics, I taught grades 1 and 3, within a few New York City public schools. I also taught at The boys club of New York in their aftercare program. While visiting in China I was invited by an art professor from Sichuan University in Chengdu to participate in their Artists In Residency program. While there I was introduced to the English teaching field. After earning my TEFL certificate I started working here in China at Sichuan University eventually moving onto primary and kindergartens schools.
